Aadhaar Update Deadline Is June 14: Here’s How To Do It Online

Last year, UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) announced that Aadhaar holders can update their documents online for free until June 14, 2025.

According to the Aadhaar Enrolment and Update regulations of 2016, Everyone needs to update their proof of identity and proof of address once every 10 years from the date of enrolment.

The online update process on myAadhaar portal is super simple and takes just a few minutes. You can update your proof of identity and proof of address right from your phone or laptop.

If you haven’t updated your Aadhaar in the last 10 years, Here’s how to update Aadhaar card details online for free

1) Open your browser and go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.

    2) Click the blue ‘Login’ button. Enter your Aadhaar number and the captcha, then you’ll get an OTP on your registered mobile number.

      3) Check your details after logging in, especially your proof of identity and address. If they’re outdated, click on ‘Document Update’ (you’ll find it on the top-right corner).

      4) Select the document type you want to update from the dropdown and upload the right files.

      5) Review and hit submit. You’ll get a Service Request Number (SRN), and save it, as it lets you track your update status.

A few things to keep in mind:

        • The website accepts JPEG, PNG, and PDF files only.
        • The file size should be under 2MB.
        • If you want to update your photo, biometrics, or mobile number? You’ll still need to visit your nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre for that.

If you miss the deadline, don’t worry! After June 14, 2025 the Aadhaar updates won’t be free anymore, Just have to pay a penalty fee of Rs 50 and visit a physical Aadhaar centre to get it done.
